yesterday's loss. Here are just a few of mine.
1) BYU still lacks talent & athleticism on the DL. This is a big reason why the defense has struggled on third downs. If you can't generate a pass rush, this is going to happen.
2) With that said, BYU has done extremely well considering the talent it has (ie, does not have). Regardless of the weaknesses that our coaches have they obviously do a lot of things right.
3) The red zone play calling has been bad for a while just not the past 2 weeks. Arod needs to be able to line up and run the ball better even in obvious rushing situations.
4) I like Retzlaff as a QB. He's not great and much less elite but he's been good enough to win a lot of P4 games this year.
5) Arod is just inconsistent as a play caller and he certainly isn't a bad OC but he does seem to get too cute far too often. Like I said, sometimes just the basic things will work and I get the feeling that he's a bit Crowton-esque at times making things more complicated than they need to be.
6) BYU still controls its own destiny this season. Some teams respond when their back is against the wall. Let's see how these guys do.
