BYU has converted 38 3rd downs all season. They have had 119 opportunities. Forget the poor 32% conversion rate. That's
12 3rd down opportunities per game. A full dozen 3rd downs each game. They're getting to third down. A lot. And when they get there, they're not in an advantageous spot.

It's not just the 3rd down failures, it's the 1st and 2nd down failures getting them to 3rd down.

Many will want to argue to look at 4th down. Yes, 17/22 is great. But can you reliably count on it over the long haul? How has 4th down treated us the last 2 games in particular?

Yes, despite the 9-1 record, this team has an OC problem and an offensive philosophy problem.
