Morning after a cold night at Lavell
Proud of Cougar Nation. It was late, and it was cold. Our crowd showed up, and despite needing winter gear, mostly wore blue. Stayed and cheered to the bitter end.

Not bad, Cougar D. Steamrolled on first drive, and some bad 3rd downs, but that was a good KU O that’s been rolling. Holding them to 19 shoulda won it, probably by multiple scores.

Frustrating that we could move the ball but only put up 13 at home against a suspect D. Woefully inadequate point total that won’t beat anyone.

Blame Arod, blame Jake, or Kalani or all 3, but they’ve combined for perhaps the 2 most avoidable, senseless and costly turnovers on our goal line I’ve ever seen from BYU. Two timeouts and they’re running it down their throat and we do that? Indefensible and difference in the game.

The D rotations seemed a bit tighter tonight up front—best players usually in on big plays, but again, we had a back up DB blowing his assignment on crucial down. I see the pros and cons. Apparently, we’ll ride or die with our approach to subs, and it is what it is.

The good-but-not-great Arod assessment is probably fair. KU bowed up consistently in the red zone and held us to no points or field goals all night long, including with the game on the line. Frustrating and disappointing to lose that way.

It’s hard to go 5/5 in 1 score games. The odds caught up

Suck it Utah. We have scoreboard, and no one likes you.

Really would’ve liked to have defended the home turf this year. I had it all going down in flames in Tempe and again vs. Colorado, and that would’ve been easier than letting it slip away at LES when we could’ve easily won. But these are 2-3 star guys who have overachieved all year.

Beat ASU, and all in forgiven. Or beat Houston and win a bowl game, and it’s still solidly a top 5 BYU season.

Go Cougs!
