Can those on CB saying a Utah win today somehow helps us please just stop?
Every BYU fan should be cheering for a Utah loss against Colorado because they are our rival, a weaker Utah helps BYU since we recruit many of the same top local talent, and I honestly cannot think of any program or fanbase that merits losing out more than the Utes do even if a win here or there did help us on the margins.

Even the angle of wanting a more favorable matchup in the CCG to increase our odds of a CFP berth doesn't necessarily make sense to me. I would say that, all things being equal, BYU would be best off going into the CCG undefeated against the most highly ranked opponent possible because: (i) a win would improve BYU's seeding in the CFP, and (ii) a higher quality loss is more likely to result in an at large bid than a loss against a weaker team.

The Prime effect means Colorado is viewed as a program that passes the "eye test" in a way that other B12 contenders do not. That's probably completely unfair, but the reality is that any outcome from the CCG against ISU, KSU (rematch), ASU (rematch), or WVU will not be as favorable for BYU as a similar/even slightly worse outcome against the Buffs. I don't think any B12 team would blow out BYU in the CCG and playing Colorado would get the most eyeballs on a BYU team that has been playing many of its games after the east coast press have all gone to sleep.
