The SEC is in disarray. We are extremely close to a two-loss SEC champion.
We already beat the likely ACC champion in SMU.
The B1G is our biggest competition. But hear me out: Ohio State beats Indiana next week, which gives Indiana their first loss. Ohio State has the tie breaker over Penn State and Indiana, so they play Oregon in the B1G title game. Ohio State beats Oregon.
Assuming we win out and win the Big 12, we would be the only undefeated team in the country. We’re in a P4 conference. If the playoffs didn’t exist, maybe we could play Army or Michigan in a bowl game, to cap off the perfect season.
Forty years later, BYU wins their second national championship. What’s the downside?
