I’m sure the U is worried about a lawsuit. They failed to control the fans and
allowed a dangerous environment. I hope the kid gets a just consequence that he can learn from, and not have on his permanent record.

But the bigger question to me is what liability does the University have? I’m sure schools have to have policies in place to maintain a reasonable safe environment for those in attendance. If they don’t, or if they failed to enforce them that night (not having enough security) then there could be grounds for a lawsuit against the school IMO.

Also the kids parents probably have money if they were in a luxury box and they’re probably worried about a lawsuit too. Although if the kid is 18 maybe that separates his parents from liability from his actions? I’m not a lawyer.
