My 7yo son needs to attend fan-ger management class. He has been enthralled with
sports the last year or so and is a huge BYU fan. He has historically been a chill, happy, drama-free kid...

After Utah's first touchdown he ran to the other room, sat on the floor sulking, and lamented: "They're gonna lose! In fact, I hope they lose. I hope they lose the rest of the season. I hope they lose every game forever!" His sorrow was cut short when my other son ran in with the news of Marion's runback and he had his Alma 36:20 moment.

Fast forward to the failed 4th down and he went into full hulk mode, to the point that I turned the TV off and missed the phantom face mask call.

He convinced me to let him watch the second half until we missed the 4th and 10 and hulk returned with a vengeance; throwing footballs and pillows at my older son. I turned off the TV and picked him up to take him to bed. He caught me off guard grabbing our recliner and actually pulled me over the back of the recliner.

After he was ready for bed, I sat by him explaining that 8-1 was still really good and we still had a chance for the playoffs, although losing to Utah did suck. He cried: "But we're going to drop to 15 in the rankings." That was a dark time.

I then checked to see if cougarboard was up again to commiserate with the rest of you and noticed talk about setting up for a field goal. Confused, I pulled up ESPN's game tracker and it was showing (incorrectly) Utah with the ball on BYUs side of the field. My wife then got home with my daughter from a late night soccer game and asked why I wasn't watching the game. I guess my sister (also my neighbor) was outside pacing. I looked up cbs sports' tracker just in time to see the score flip to 22-21. "We made the field goal!!!!"

We will be coming up for the game again this weekend. Here's hoping that hulk doesn't make an appearance.
