Ok, now that we've reveled in Utah's self implosion, on to BYU's problems in
that game.

1) Interior O line - Utah consistently rushed up the middle and we could not stop them. I know Leusa went down, and I think Lapuaho was hurt for a while too, so it didn't help our starting guards missed time, on top of already being on our backup center. We're going to need to figure that out in a big way.

2) RB blitz pickup - Not our best game of RB blocking. LJ has never been too reliable blocking, and Ropati was absolutely abused by the Ute MLB (Reid?), and not just on the last play. We should expect lots of pressure from everyone else we play from now on.

3) ARod - put in a pretzel by KW/Scalley most of the game. Hated the fade to Keanu on the 2 point conversion, that's not our best playmaker and that is a situation where you need a play that allows your playmaker(s) to make the play. Fades are not high percentage plays, and you need a higher percentage play there.

4) Clock management - woooooof. I don't really blame Jake for not spiking the ball, every coach on the sideline should have been yelling and signalling for the spike. You don't just sit there and hope Jake thinks of it. I know they showed Kalani on the sideline saying spike it, but it was far from demonstrative, very unlikely to have been heard in that environment, and looked more like "well, obviously Jake knows to spike it here." That can't be how you coach - gotta be more proactive. Also, NO SUBSTITUTIONS when the clock is running in a 2 minute scenario. How do we not know this? If we would have lost, I would point to the coaches on this one - not the players.

We're going to need to fix these things in a hurry, like before this Saturday, because Kansas, ASU and even Houston are all playing like they'll be much stiffer competition than the rest of our conference opponents have been.
