Walking up to the game I passed their tailgating and like I said earlier was offered the sacrament Jell-O shots. I didn’t get a picture because I was moving quickly but there were many BYU fans walking the same path and so I’m sure many others saw it. I’m a pretty loud and excited fan during the game, but I never initiate trash talk with the opposing team’s fans. But I kinda like clapping back when other fans trash talk me. Before the game almost all of their trash talk was good-natured ribbing and it was fun to go back and forth, got a ton of fist bumps and dap ups from them. They didn’t expect to win the game at all.

I sat in the corner of the stadium opposite of where most BYU fans sat, so I was surrounded by ~95% Utes. The fans that sat around me were very nice and well-behaved for the most part. Like I said I can get a bit rowdy and sometimes that might piss some fans off but the couple next to me thought my cheering was hilarious. After each big play by either team, after we were done celebrating or moping, we’d have a good laugh and talk to each other.

Once the Utes believed they could’ve/should've won the game, they became a lot more salty and rude. After Jake got sacked I started to head out only to see our offense move 10 yards upfield and line up again, so I ran back to my seat. By that point I had already emotionally accepted defeat so I was just enjoying myself, no pressure on and was loving the final drive. A few of the Ute fans around me were insulting me during the final drive so I knew we were gonna win, kinda got me really hype because I wasn’t nervous at all. Then we won. Holy crap.

On the way out got a ton of F—k you or f—k BYU and I just laughed really hard in their face. One guy was calling all the BYU fans pedophiles, and passing by heckling students was really fun. They kinda make trash talk easy when they’ve lost 5 straight including a loss to Houston lol.

I drove back to Rexburg and finally got in around 5AM. Woke up 30 minutes ago totally wired and I know there’s no way I’m going back to sleep. Glad I got to see that instant classic in RES. Love my cougs, this is OUR YEAR BABY!
