My pregame analysis, which I know you have all been anxiously awaiting.
Before I start, I think I should let you all know my credentials. I have 25+ years of coaching experience of major college and NFL teams. I have won dozens of Madden Super Bowls and have turned around a number of NCAA teams from cellar dwellers to perennial powerhouses with multiple undefeated seasons in a row.

Currently, on Thursday nights, Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays I also work as an advisor to coaches throughout all levels of football. I tell them when to go for it on 4th, when to punt, when to kick a FG, when not to waste a timeout, when to "just run the ball". I'm also very quick to correct OCs when they make dumb play calls. No team has ever lost a game (that wasn't the refs' fault) when following my advice.

I think that this game will either be a big win for BYU (2TDs+) or a super close game where anything can happen. I think we are the better team, but if we give them any momentum and let them hang around it will be tough. I personally am nervous, hope the team is ready to roll.

Here are my keys to the game. I sent this to Kalani's email earlier in the week and haven't heard back. I assume he is too busy implementing this to respond.

1. Make them drive the length of the field repeatedly.

The only way we lose is if we give Utah a short field multiple times. This means limit turnovers (especially on their side of the field) and punt when it makes sense to punt. I know we love to go for it on 4th down near mid-field, but I think this is a game where you punt, pin them back and make them drive.

2. Sell out to stop the run.

I think our secondary is good enough to play man and contain them. Keep a safety deep to prevent a huge play. Make them beat us with their QB. I don't see that happening.

3. Set up the run with the pass.

I think that we can run the ball on them, but I'd prefer that we start with short passes (screens, flats, outs) to spread out their defense so they can't load up against then. Then pound the rock. If we come out dead set on establishing the run game and struggle to move the ball a couple of drives, I could see Utah getting some hope.

4. Play clean. No personal fouls.

Utes gonna Ute. They'll be punks with late hits, trash talking and pushing. Just don't play that game. Don't let a dumb penalty stall a drive or give them a first down.

5. Never take the foot off the gas.

Score every time we have a chance. Don't get cute with play calls in the red zone. Don't get super conservative with play calls or running clock too early. Wacky things happen in this rivalry almost every game, so step on their throats and bury then as soon as possible. Crush their souls.
