Are businesses really this bad at solving problems? I'm dealing with a Chinese
supplier of plastic for 3d printing.

I've made various purchases from them over the years from 300 KG to 1000 KG of plastic at a time.

They have always packed 2 x 5 KG spools of plastic in one box and shipped them to me like that.

All of the sudden the shipping cost doubled (for reference, it's about 38% of total cost now, so it's not nothing). Why? Well now the spools are a slightly different shape, and I guess they don't have the right box, so they ship the spools one by one, and their shipping partner charges a minimum of 12 KG per parcel, even though the parcels are only 6.5 KG.

How hard would it be to find a box to fit two spools again? Or go back to the previous spool? It's such a no-brainer.
