For the cougs. It takes a while to get up to day-in and day-out P4 competition."
BYU 1-0: "Well, they've decided on a quarterback. I guess that Jewish boy is used to beating FCS level folks."
BYU 2-0: "They beat an SMU team that is clearly going to have some growing pains in the ACC. In other news, too bad for Notre Dame, but NIU is clearly gonna rule the MAC and will compete for a spot in the playoff---quality loss."
BYU 3-0: "Wyoming. See week 1."
BYU 4-0: "That was the luckiest 38-9 victory over a top 15 team I've ever seen. But what happens when they don't get turnovers and the game's close? No running threat will doom them."
BYU 5-0: "BYUs qb is a wildcard gunslinger who is gonna cost them a game because he never learns. Look how they let Baylor back in. I think ranking them just ahead of Utah seems about right."
BYU 6-0: "Arizona is clearly having a bad year. There are still tons of undefeated teams. Heck theres still one in the Big12. BYU might cruise when blowing out crap teams, but they can't close out close games."
BYU 7-0: "There is just such a talent gap. BYU needed the luckiest final drive to win this close one at home. The home crowd won't carry them when they travel to the east coast."
BYU 8-0: "I don't know why I trusted Vegas. But BYU has no dominant wins or quality losses. Look at Tenessee. Quality loss to Arkansas. Arkansas is good they've only lost to *checks sheet* um...LSU, Texas AM, and Oklahoma state."
BYU 8-0: "How many teams are in the playoffs? 12? Let's just copy the AP. I'm exhausted from having to justify keeping so many Big10 and SEC teams in paycheck position. BYU better not lose any of these upcoming games. None of these teams even come close to Tennessee or Vanderbilt-level losses. Those are quality SEC losses."
(Vanderbilt lost to georgia state and Tenessee lost to Arkansas who lost to Oklahoma state? Transitive rule doesn't apply to football. Has to be head to head.)
Do I have it right so far, CFP committee aka AP?
