WHAT. THE. HECK!
I've read about everything since the end of last season. I've watched hours of highlights of incoming players. I've listened to hours of podcasts. I thought I was prepared to actually see live basketball with this new team, but I was still blown away.
In my decades of following BYU basketball since my childhood, I've never seen athletes like this, specifically true freshmen. Our supporting cast is as good as most every BYU team of the past, then add in the new guys including Egor, Kanon, Mihailo, and Keiba and I'm just floored.
It's not the margin of victory. Blow out wins in these early games is the norm and expected.
Heralded freshmen from other years still looked like freshmen. I remember watching blue bloods, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan's Fab Five, even Few's Zags in the past and being proud that BYU can produce such good results without having the obvious talent that those guys just seem to reload with.
Not only do Kanon and Egor not resemble freshmen from the past, they are BETTER than many of those heralded players that other guys seem to always have! I'm literally amazed by what I watched last night.
Okay. Got that out of my system.
