1) I don’t think BYU has ever surpassed preseason expectations to this degree at this point in the season… ever. I think it’s obviously the most-impressive 8-game start we’ve ever had. But we were supposed to be fighting for a bowl berth! Now we have a “>50%” chance of making the playoff!



2) I don’t think Utah has ever fallen so far below preseason expectations ever. CFP was “guaranteed” with their most talented team ever, and now they’re fighting for a bowl berth.

So our most-unexpectedly positive season, probably ever, and their most-unexpectedly negative season, probably ever, just happen to coincide.

After 100 years of football, it’s amazing that both of these are happening at the same time. I hope you’re appreciating it!
