I had the most disturbing dream...

Things are looking great for all my teams:

BYU is undefeated, in the top ten, and insanely enough, most prognosticators are projecting them as at-large even if they lose a game. WTHeck!?!

The Chiefs are undefeated and looking at a potential Super Bowl three-peat (and although this may seem totally different than what BYU has going on, if you grew up in KC, you got to experience decades of despair — so it still feels unreal)

Footnote here since CB doesn't do footnotes: all the KC/BYU peeps that I've talked to wholeheartedly agree that we'd take the BYU Natty over a KC Super Bowl the three-peat, and it isn't a close decision. (my Niners fan college roommate from the bay area, on the other hand, told me he'd take a Niners SB over a BYU natty every time. SMH)

Additionally, BYU hoops is blowing up in ways that no one even dared dream off. Projected lottery picks coming here? The frontrunner for the consensus number one player in the nation? The top NBA assistant coming to coach? 4-stars players signing on becoming routine? If we win the Thanksgiving weekend Rady Children’s Invitational over NC State, Ole Miss, and Purdue, then my dream is fully tracking.

The Royals are on the upswing.

There is an NHL team in town.

So, how does it end?
Well, it is just too good to be true.

In this dream, sometime between Thanksgiving and the CFP finals on January 20th, with BYU football still winning, the basketball team on fire and ranked in the top 5, and the Chiefs tracking for the bye and the SB win, it happens —
Russia detonates a series of EMP devices over the US mainland, starting the tribulation, or maybe the second half of the tribulation, depending on how you calculate it -

AND THUS WE ARE ROBBED OF A FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, A BASKETBALL FINAL FOUR, AND A CHIEFS THREE-PEAT!

It was a great dream until the very end but, believe me, I woke up in despair. Hopefully, it was just the cough syrup I took for my cold and not a premonition of things to come...
