Title: "The BYU Fandom"
Scene 1: Jerry's Apartment
Jerry is lounging on the couch, watching TV. Kramer bursts in with his usual energy.
Kramer: "Jer, you’re not gonna believe this! BYU, the Mormon college, they got themselves a Jewish quarterback!"
Jerry: "What? Get outta here!"
Kramer: "I'm serious, man! Kid’s name is Jake Retzlaff. Can you believe it? A Jewish QB at BYU! You gotta check this out!"
Jerry: "BYU? The college where you can’t drink coffee?"
Kramer: "The very one. But they got a Jewish kid calling the shots!"
Jerry pauses, intrigued.
Jerry: "Well, I do need a new team. The Jets have been disappointing since…forever."
Scene 2: Monk’s Café
Jerry, George, and Elaine are at their usual booth.
George: "Let me get this straight. You’re a BYU fan now? How does that even happen?"
Jerry: "They have a Jewish quarterback, George! It’s destiny!"
Elaine: "Wait, isn't BYU like super… religious? And you’re just gonna ignore the whole ‘no coffee’ thing?"
Jerry: "I’m not joining the school, Elaine, I’m just rooting for the guy! Think about it—a Jewish QB leading a Mormon team? It’s got that ‘fish out of water’ thing going for it!"
George: "I don’t know, Jerry. Rooting for BYU? Sounds like a minefield."
Scene 3: Jerry’s Apartment
Jerry is wearing a freshly purchased BYU shirt, scrolling through game stats on his laptop when Kramer barges in.
Kramer: "Whoa! Look at you—already geared up! You’re really going for it, huh?"
Jerry: "Of course! It’s exciting! It’s like…a little connection."
Kramer: "I knew it. I can feel that Cougar spirit radiating off ya!" Kramer does the BYU cougar claw symbol with his hand.
Just then, George walks in, looking irritated.
George: "I’m telling you, Jerry. I tried talking to a BYU fan on one of their message boards. They kicked me out!"
Jerry: "What did you say?"
George: "I just asked if their quarterback ever goes for a bagel before the game! I mean, he’s gotta be missing the essentials!"
Jerry: "You don’t ask about bagels, George. That’s rookie stuff."
Scene 4: BYU Game Watch Party
Jerry and Kramer are at a bar showing the BYU game, both decked out in BYU gear. Jerry’s genuinely into it, while Kramer’s hyping up every play.
Kramer: "Did you see that pass? The kid’s got an arm!"
Jerry: "And look at that spiral! Precision, Kramer, precision!"
A group of BYU fans is at the next table. They notice Jerry’s excitement and start cheering with him. Jerry feels like part of the crew.
BYU Fan: "Hey, you guys came all the way to support BYU?"
Jerry: "Oh yeah. Big Jake Retzlaff fan. Go Cougars!" Jerry tries to do the cougar claw symbol with mixed success.
The fans cheer, and Jerry is in his element.
Scene 5: Back at Monk’s Café
George and Elaine are at the table when Jerry comes in, looking deflated.
George: "What happened to you?"
Jerry: "Turns out, Jake Retzlaff’s just exploring his heritage, not practicing. I told some BYU fans I was there to support ‘their Jewish QB’ and they said he wasn’t even really Jewish."
Elaine: "So you’re off the BYU train now?"
Jerry: sighing "Yeah, I guess. Can’t believe I got all wrapped up in this…"
Just then, Kramer rushes in.
Kramer: "Jer, Jer! I just found out—Utah has a Jewish player too!"
Jerry: deadpan "I’ll pass."
Everyone laughs as the scene fades.
