way to go for our rivals. U of U was up 1-0 fairly late in the second half (73rd minute). Colorado had a free kick into the box which U of U initially cleared, and then Colorado got it back and recycled another pass into the box. The ball bounced and turned into a 50-50 ball between the U keeper coming out and a Colorado attacker. The Colorado player kicked the ball about chest high and just poked it in before the keeper could grab the ball.
The U keeper went ballistic on the ref and got a yellow card. She wanted a high kick call. I guess they could have called it, but there was no contact between attacker and keeper. Keeper's fear of contact there cost them the lead. If she had even been more aggressive in grabbing the ball she probably could have initiated some contact and got the call.
And then for some karma with the game winding down 1-1, the U of U keeper got some karma payback for blowing up at the ref. In 85th minute The U of U keeper failed to tip over the bar a late high cross and it went in, and Colorado won 2-1.
