bought a plumbing valve from the official Moen store on Amazon. Came in 1 day. Awesome delivery time. Price was the expected price, not a super deal off of other online retailers.
Valve didn't operate as expected. It's a diverter valve where the flow is controlled to go from input to output 1, or output 2, or shared 50/50 between 1 and 2.
The shared function had almost no output. Called Moen and the nice lady said "well when it's on the shared mode flow is reduced but it shouldn't be cut to almost zero", she shipped me a new valve core for free ($50 value).
Looking closely at the new valve core that arrived 3 days later and the one that came in the Amazon valve noticed a pretty obvious difference in the ceramic disc that decides which port gets flow and how much. The new valve provided pretty much 50/50 flow shared between 1 and 2 outputs.
So, tried to post a 1-star Amazon review noting the fact that the valves Amazon is shipping aren't authentic. Amazon just let me know they can't post the review because it doesn't meet the community guidelines.
I'm appalled at this censorship, but not surprised. Their moderation committee is probably former CB mods that have graduated.
