It's interesting to watch when a coach loses their team. And it sure looks that way for the Yewts...
Player-only meetings...
A rumored fight in the locker room...
Your starting QB benched and then standing by himself with hia helmet on and a bad look on his face...
Players after the game making cryptic comments about knowing what's wrong.

Last year when BYU was in the middle of their collapse and on their way to bowl ineligibility you never heard anything like that. In fact, and this is one of the reasons I had hope, was that in their last two games they played their guts out and almost won both of those games. I'll never forget Isaac Rex walking off the field in Stillwater after his fumble, because I'm sure from his point of view he had let his brothers down. When I saw that, after my heart broke for him and the team. I was heartend. Why? Because guys who act like that love their coach, love their teammates like brothers, and that is a culture that comes from their head coach.

Whitt did have a ton of success, even if his peak in the P5 was two straight Rose Bowl losers, but it's obvious that his shtick has worn thin. And it's interesting how two teams that seem to parallel each other in successive seasons have dealt with adversity...
