out this season in rather dramatic fashion. For the last 20 years Utah has been on top in the rivalry. It began with the retirement of BYU’s legendary coach, and then shortly after Utah hired Urban Meyer who took them to the Fiesta Bowl. Then Utah won the college football lottery and was invited to join the Pac 12, leaving BYU behind to wander through the wilderness for the next decade. But now the tables have turned and Utah is the one adrift in a new league they never wanted to be a part of and believe they are too good for. And now it appears that their legendary coach is going to retire soon. Meanwhile, BYU is thriving in its new conference and is once again on equal footing with money and recruiting. A new era of dominance may be starting.
