That's some very impressive scoring defense. Even more so when you consider the averages for these teams through 7 games.

Kansas State 9 (Averaging 33 per game, so held to 24 points below their average)
SIU 13 (Averaging "who really cares?" per game, so "don't know, didn't ask" above/below average)
Wyoming 14 (Averaging 17 per game, so 3 points below their average)
SMU 15 (Averaging 40 per game, so 25 points below average)
Arizona 19 (Averaging 23 per game, so 4 points below average)
Baylor 28 (Averaging 32 per game, so 4 points below average)
Oklahoma State 35 (Averaging 31 per game, so 4 points above average)

So we held every team besides Oklahoma State below its season average, with two teams being held below their average by more than three touchdowns, both of which are ranked. It was a dogfight to beat OSU, who is currently occupying the bottom slot in the B12, which I think only demonstrates the parity in this conference. It would be amazing to win out, which guarantees a CFP berth, but we could still lose a game or two and still make the playoff, which is a luxury BYU has never had in the past.

An undefeated season with a loss in the CC game still may punch our ticket to the playoff as an at large team (no guarantee there). One or Two losses during the season and we could still land in the CC game where a win gives us an auto-berth to the CFP. That's a really cool place to be after 7 games. That said there are more conference games ahead of us than behind us so there's still a lot of football to play, but this defense is really encouraging in terms of our potential going forward against the teams we have left on our schedule.
