In hindsight it may be a blessing that Batty and other defenders were getting
burned with the read option. Whatever the opposite of "assignment sound" is, that's how BYU's defense played for much of the game. Against a team like UCF that has a potent rushing attack with an athletic QB, I'm happy knowing that defending the read option and staying assignment sound will be a huge point of emphasis in prep this week.

Friday's game may have been the best possible outcome for BYU. Weaknesses and areas of needed improvement were clearly identified, but still got the W. Win/Win and may serve as a wake up call that they need to bring their A game every weak. They can't coast to any wins.
