This kind of shows you just how unfocused our defense was the entire night and it started on OSU's first drive...



So we have 3 downline men... with Glasker at the left end and Bagnah at the right end standing up. Taggart is going to blitz and the second he gets through the line he is being held immediately, should have been a penalty but wasn't. Kelly gets locked up by an OL, he is cleared out. Glasker, I guarantee you he got a butt chewing here, he had zero intention of containing the end, he immediately went down line and into the same hole that Taggart went through, he took himself out of the play. If he had held containment on the end, Gordon only has a 3 yard gain at best. Wakely is behind Taggart and he stays home for like a second, but then he takes himself out of the play by also crashing into the line, I have no idea what he sees but he goes to the right side of the line which also takes himself out of the play.

So this left Robinson and Collins to stop Gordon, Collins is playing more of a safety role here... Robinson stayed home and he had the best shot to tackle Gordon, but Collins takes out Robinson's position by taking too much of a shallow position and he is hip checked into Robinson and Gordon is able to run right by Collins on the ground, Robinson has no chance to get to Gordon because Collins is in the way, and Gordon is gone.

The funny thing is that the OL for OSU, only 1 player did his job and that's the one that took Kelly out of the play... he perfectly sealed up Kelly. The rest were kind of a disaster here.
I get that there was the hold on Taggart, but it's just not going to be called every time. All in all, everyone on the field who wore blue on this play helped OSU more on that play than OSU helped himself.



You can see a lot of this throughout the entire game... Jay Hill has his work cut out for him this week. This game defensively was kind of similar to the crap the bed game against TCU last year. Just this time the offense did the lifting.
