We started 7-0 in 2020. Covid year. Teamrankings says our SoS was 91 through 7 games.
We started 7-0 in 2001 as well--remember Doman and Staley?! I couldn't find SoS for that year, but we had played Tulane, New Mexico, Utah St, Cal, Navada, UNLV, and Air Force. Guessing again, that would have been something like 90-100.
The one other season was of course 1984. We opened against #3 ranked Pitt who went on to have a terrible season (injuries). Baylor was bad that year. Tulsa, Hawaii, Colorado St., Wyoming, Air Force...another very weak schedule.
Depending on the source, our current SoS in somewhere between 35-56, depending on how much they rely on 2023 to come up with the rating. The rest of the year's SoS should remain about the same until the B12 championship, which presumably would give it a bump if we're playing an undefeated Iowa St. or one loss Iowa St/Kansas St.
BTW, Utah never had a 7-0 start with a P-5 schedule.
