I just want to revisit how crazy the Texas Georgia PI call/overturn was.
First let me lay out the sequence of events:

Georgia QB throws a pick
Officials call defensive PI
Replay makes fans go crazy. Even TV announcers are baffled at the call.
Referee announces the call
Officials mark off penalty yardage
Both teams line up to run the next play
Students throw garbage on the field
Game is paused while students calm down and Texas staffers pick up garbage
During pause, officials discuss the call
Referee overturns the call, gives the ball back to Texas on the Georgia nine yard line

I've seen a lot of college football games, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like this.

Now a question: Does this empower every student section/fanbase in the country a little bit?

What we saw in this event was a group of officials get bullied into overturning their call. Granted, they made a bad call. But like I said, I've seen a lot of officials make a lot of bad calls; I've NEVER seen an official make a call, mark off the yardage, line the teams up for the next play, and THEN overturn the call. I mean, I feel like we saw one of the cardinal rules of officiating get violated. Now that I've seen a ref get bullied into overturning a call, I don't know what to believe anymore.
