Everytime someone on CB shouts “Don’t worry about AP rankings, they don’t
matter.”
If you are shouting this at a significant portion of the board, it means a ton of other CFB fans are also worrying about the rankings and analyzing what happens with them 18 different ways to Sunday.
Like it or not, they matter. They may not be the final determinant in who gets seeded where in the playoff, but the buzz and press around them matters. It translates into eyeballs on TVs, and talk from analysts, and ultimately, CFP voters hear all that noise too.
As much as you want to will them out of existence, they matter.
