Is a Cougar Flipmas coming?
this is all conjecture, but consider a few thoughts...

- BYU is 7-0 and Utah... isint (if the rumors are true and Whitt retires at the end of the year things could be interesting up on the hill)
- We have a proven track record of player development and improvement, it looks like Kalani has his guys in and they doing great (Sione Pouha for example)
- Any doubts about a warm seat for Kalani are GONE... contract extension- stability, same with the assistants
- We get a full share of tv money next year which allows us to give out said extensions
- Our record and trajectory allows for Tom and others to go to donors for more NIL money, salaries and facilities. Having a supportive President helps too! Thanks Pres. Reese!!!
- All of this allows the staff to get an in with better recruits... so maybe we go back to some recruits and ask if they want to stay in state, with a coaching staff that they know, with a passionate fanbase...and maybe you dont want to play in an empty stadium, or lose to Maryland, South Carolina or N Illinois. We offer a school where you can play high quality ball on a national stage. If you're out of state the pitch maybe is - this is a great place to get an education, less distractions in a calm environment. We play alot in Texas so family can watch and were nationally relevant with a fast improving NFL track.
- The transfer market is changing. Expect legislation and rules to change it more. I see BYU getting alot more selective- we might take a kid that went somewhere else and changed their mind (aka Kingsley) and I am guessing we will take more FBS kids moving up (Jack Kelly) who can play at a higher level. Were not going to take alot of kids who had alot of offers but didnt pan out, thats killing programs right now. BYU will recruit and develop their own players, loyalty will be rewarded.
- All of this in totality I think will allow us to recruit at a higher level in the coming years, and I have no insider information but I expect we will close really well and flip/ get some kids who we didnt think we would, expect that to continue in the coming years. At the same time, we're dealing with 18 yr olds, so who knows.
- BYU is well positioned for future moves and changes that will be coming in the next few years in the college landscape, its an exciting time to be a fan!
