I think something similar applies for entering a new conference. If you’re going to insult and condescend to all your new conference mates, if you’re going to refer to your new conference as a truck stop conference, if you’re going to crow all summer about how you run the conference and always will and everyone sucks, in short, if you’re going to be a bunch of yewts - you better not crap the bed three times in your first four conference games and be virtually out of contention for the title just over halfway through the season.
