the team needed a struggle and a chance to overcome mistakes to toughen them up and make them realize every game is not going to be a cakewalk. Defense won the SMU game. Offense had to win ths one.
- lose the turnover battle and still come out on top
- trail for first time in 4th quarter and come back to win
- score a touchdown to win game after other team had taken the lead very late (first game offense had to score on last possession to win)
- get exposed on defense because players were not "staying home"
- hurt again by running QB and even a QB who can't run (they need to figure this out, did well against Fifita but I don't think they expected it so much with OSU)
- 3rd down defense (or lack thereof) is perplexing
Defense has a lot of film from last night highlighting areas they can improve.
Offense made plays when they absolutely had to but missed on a lot of plays throughout the game. Bad interceptions on bad throws.
LJ Martin is obviously healthy. Hopefully, BYU can keep him going but OSU run defense is not considered "good" so every game will not be like this for run game.
If BYU had lost that game, there was plenty of blame to go around. Now they can breathe a sigh of relief and hit the film study hard.
Fun game to watch beacuse of outcome and clutch final drive but the game was very stress inducing overall.
On to 8-0!
