I'm traveling, and went to the hotel restaurant/sports bar, and saddled up next to two OK State guys and told them I was nice, and could I watch the game with them. One was the grandson of a member of the Board of Regents. They were dropping f bombs every other word, and I was dropping gosh dangits ... none of us were very happy with our teams for most of the game, ha! A few tidbits:

- He said the board of regents wants to fire Gundy, and is hoping for a reason to do it. For that reason, he was hoping OK state lost ... so while it pained him, he was actually cheering with me! Mostly he was just frustrated with how pathetic they are right now.
- Gundy is difficult to work with donors, apparently, and pretty cocky. The school wants to be done with him, but his buyout is too large, so they need a really good reason.
- They really dislike Bowman--a lot. They have no faith in him at all. They were really bummed when Rangel got injured.
- He said Ollie is overrated, and that he got a lot of pub last year for beating up on bad rush defenses (what does this say about us?!?). They were surprised to see Ollie get going last night.
- I asked about their missing players, and he felt like some were not as injured as they pretended, and were instead wanting to redshirt and transfer for NIL. He said the lockerroom culture is terrible right now.
- A big knock against Gundy is that he supposedly isn't catching up to the new NIL recruiting game that well. "He doesn't like to recruit" is what he said.
- OK State as a fanbase has too high of expectations (My thoughts). He said they expected to be the big dog in the new Big12, and everyone is really frustrated that this hasn't happened.

If they are expecting to roll the conference fairly regularly, they are going to be disappointed, just like Utah, and aren't giving the other teams in the conference enough credit.

Anyway, fun game. I had actually moved to another part of the hotel before the ending, so I didn't see their reaction at the end---I wish I had!
