It's interesting to watch business trends over the decades. When I was a young boy Woolworths was a popular store. I remember going to Grand Central in Ogden. K-Mart was a thriving business.
Then I remember when Walmart came along. I remember studying them in business school in the early 2000s. I remember thinking back then that Walmart had figured out logistics and price-competitiveness - and that no one would be able to beat them. I remember thinking it was almost unfair competition what they had done.
But then came Amazon and the internet and online shopping. People think Amazon is the end-all store and the culmination of shopping. What history tells me is that there will be more and more competition and that decades from now we'll look back and wonder what happened.
