The 2021 schedule ended up being the best independent schedule Holmoe was able to put together during the Independence Era. We played 7 Power 5 teams that year (I'm pretty sure more than any other Independent season).

2024 is surprisingly similar. In 2024 BYU is playing 10 power 4 teams however 3 of those teams would not have been considered power teams in 2021: UCF, Houston, and SMU. In addition, 4 of the power teams were the same as in 2021: Utah, Arizona, ASU, and Baylor.

The strength of schedule clearly goes to 2024. BYUs sagarin schedule rank is currently 32nd while 2021's final ranking was 63rd.

Having said all that, the kinds of schedules Holmoe was able to put together especially near the end - while not sustainable - was pretty impressive.
