I was a student and following the team closely and I could see 3 quarterbacks (2 Becks and forget the other) in colored QB jerseys warming up and throwing on the near side of the field. I stepped up to a gate that was closed to look through the chain link fence where there was no thick hedge.

As I was standing there a breeze blew and the gate which unbeknownst to me was unsecured and opened directly into me. All I could think to do was grab and close it, but the breeze wouldn't let it stay shut. So people inside on the field take notice of this kid fiddling with the gate which of course made me look guilty as mud. Some student assistant walked over and started questioning me like I'm a MWC opponent spy. I assured him I didn't touch the gate until the wind blew but I don't think he believe me. I almost recall him asking to see my BYU ID.

I laugh about it now, but in the moment I was BYU Football public enemy #1 for about 60 seconds.
