Me, my wife, and kids all got COVID and Flu vaccines last weekend. Not much issues to report. I felt a little bit of..
Mods : Put this in health and fitness because getting vaccinated can be especially important for various portions of the population.

Others : I'm not really interested in discussing COVID politics in this post so if you wouldn't mind please save your politics for another post.

..cold like symptoms the day after but nothing too bad. My wife and young kids (5, 7, 9) said that their arms hurt a little bit but again no major complaints.

We all went with Pfizer this time. I went with Moderna for the initial COVID vaccines in 2021 and the side effects of the Pfizer vaccine were a lot less noticeable. The Moderna vaccine gave me some crazzzzzzy chills and kind of wiped me out for a day. My wife went with Pfizer the first time and didn't have any issues in 2021 and her family has a history of heart issues.

The cost was $0 for the vaccines at CVS with Aetna insurance and according to their website it $0 with most major insurance providers. The best way to go about it is to just go onto CVS's website and schedule an appointment. Some CVS's have both the Flu and COVID for children and others do not. If you don't get both vaccines at the same time you have to wait a couple weeks between vaccines.

Anyhow part of my logic of encouraging my whole family to get vaccinated is because my wife already is overweight and currently has some health problems and her family has a history of heart problems and from my research myocarditis is much more likely from catching a virus than it is from getting vaccinated. I'm currently in better health physically than she is so I arguably had much less of a need of a vaccine than she did.

As I stated before both of us had been vaccinated in 2021 for COVID and didn't have any major issues previously so that played a part as well.

With both me and my wife previously getting vaccinated with no major issues to report I figured that with our kids sharing our DNA would also be not likely to have any issues getting vaccinated.

Not only did we research but also prayed about it and my wife and I felt differently. So we talked about it and read an article by an immunologist ( that I don't have readily available ) and after reading the article she felt at ease about it.

I know that a lot of CBers don't feel the need for a Flu or COVID vaccine and that's fine maybe you have been and are perfectly fine without one but if you have a family member that's elderly or maybe not be in the best of health it could be in their best interest to encourage them to get vaccinated regardless about how you personally feel about it.

If you perhaps think I'm some overly pro-vaxxer neither me and my wife have been vaccinated for anything since COVID in 2021. My kids weren't previously vaccinated for COVID or the Flu.

Part of what motivated me to get vaccinated this year is that my family is traveling to NY at the beginning of November and I wanted to decrease the probability of my family getting sick while on vacation. ( FYI it takes about 2 weeks for both the Flu and COVID vaccines to help the body develop antibodies to provide protection ).

There's more reasons than I have listed that motivated me to get my family vaccinated and I'm happy to share but felt that this post is probably wayyyyyy too long as it is.
