Awesome listen/read. 100% Would recommend.
It is about the rescue of EDS employees, stranded in Iran as the Shah fell, including two who were falsely accused of corruption by an over zealous prosecutor. Getting them out was a Herculean effort.
The true rescue story is compelling and intense. I gained a ton of respect for Ross Perot both for this rescue but also his loyalty and the culture he built. It is also a story that I just can’t see being repeated today. The culture today wouldn’t allow it. The needed secrecy couldn’t happen. And I don’t think you could find an executive suite with the skills and chutzpah to pull it off. Each one of them acting brave and being heroic just because that’s what you do.
