11 ND has a similar resume (two ranked wins - @TA&M, Louisville), BUT has a home loss to Northern Illinois. Should be behind BYU.
10 TN beat a formerly ranked OU team. BUT lost to an unranked @Arkansas team. They've also played Chattanooga and Kent State. Should be behind BYU.
9 Clemson got pummeled by Georgia (most teams would). Since then has wins against App State, NC State (4 losses), Stanford, @FSU and @Wake. Should be behind BYU.
8 LSU has a loss to 3 loss USC, but did beat a solid Ole Miss. Wins include Nicholls, @South Carolina (3Ls), UCLA (ug), So Alabama. They've played one away game.
7 Alabama: Ws Western KY, So Florida, @Wisconsin, South Carolina. L: @Vandy
5 Ohio State: 4 home games - Akron, W. Michigan, Marshall and Iowa (solid W); 2 away games - @MSU (blah), L to #2 Oregon (quality L). Aside for Oregon, blah schedule.
4 Georgia: Nah, they should be ranked pretty high. Their schedule is tough, minus TN Tech.
I'm not saying BYU is a top 10 team. I'm just thinking that like SEC and B10 teams they should be considered one UNTIL they lose — based on resume.
Note: I like the underdog role. But, I also would love to see year end rewards... which rankings help create (recruiting, TV viewership, bowls and even play offs....)
The SEC and B10 patches on the jersey's influence rankings quite a bit.
