UA lost a key LB to targeting on the opening drive? That's really frustrating for them, but looked like textbook targeting. Crown of the helmet led into helmet.
Going for it on 4th and 4 on opening drive instead of taking the 3 pts? That seems like a bad decision early in the game, unless it's like 4th and 1 maybe.
Some great opportunistic defensive plays to create the TOs and gather in the loose balls. Love it. Having a D that creates extra possessions is so wonderful. What a world of difference from a Tuiaki defense. Takes me back to the old KVN days.
What a catch by Parker Kingston! Holy moley!
What a throw by Parker Kingston! Wow!
How many dudes in the same season in CFB have ever passed for a TD, and caught a TD, and returned a punt for TD? He's like Taysom out there. OK, calm down, of course I wouldn't go that far.
Our pass defense looked a little suspect. 275 yards passing given up and 15 passing first downs. Seems like UA got a lot of yards through the middle of the field. But, the guys stiffened up reasonably well when backed up at the goal line, and some credit for the pick 6 (although it was just a desperation play and didn't really matter).
Ropati's fumble was weak. Have to be stronger than that.
Retzlaff is looking pretty good. Makes a few bonehead mistakes still (and Steve Young admitted this), but also makes some great plays. I think he's a come a long way since last season.
I am so relieved to see the O produce this well with Pay being out. I really thought that was the kind of loss that could derail a season, he's so valuable. Baylor's crappy turf sucks and they should be embarrassed for having a fake, pathetic excuse for a football program that can't even put down real grass. But grateful for the bye week to train up a replacement.
Best part about this win? The pairing with a dirty yewt loss.
