He never pushed to be an International Star which is incredible given his resume starting out with his gritty mod trio The Jam, then onto a project turned jazz alternative music in The Style Council, however once he went solo in 92 the depth of what he was capable was discovered over the decades that followed. He was and still is even at 76 years old an amazing performer.

His latest album 66 released this year (yes this year). He recaptures some of his earlier stylings with a nice blend of folksy ballad work along with classic sixties influenced jazz tracks with inspired brass and gospel vocals.
