In the front court, Fouss shot 63% last year, Keita 61%. That is excellent- top 50'ish in the nation for Keita, around top 30 for Fouss. On top of that you have the defensive great Mag and the versatile and tall Boskovic. That is a very deep and talented front line. Then you throw in Catchings who is the most versatile and talented scorer of the bunch at forward. Even if I knew nothing about this team's guard line I would think "this is a team that can contend." But wait- there's more. At guard you have Saunders and Hall, both borderline all-Big 12 talents last year, and Demin, a future lottery pick who can do everything. If any of them get in foul trouble or aren't playing well you can turn to Baker, an All-conference player at UC Irvine, or Knell, a very experienced and talented three point shooter. This team is easily ten deep in (mostly) proven talent. This is not like the typical Duke or Kentucky team full of freshman who had all of the HS accolades but haven't proven anything in college yet. Fouss, Mag, Keita, Saunders, Hall, Knell, and Baker all have significant experience in the college game, and Demin and Boskovic have significant European league experience. Catchings is fresh out of HS but looked very good in the B&W game, showing the athleticism, size, and multi-level scoring ability that we hoped he would have.

This sounds crazy, but are there even five teams in the entire country that have a deeper roster of proven talent? I'd be surprised if there were. I'm not saying that we have the most total talent, but the depth is insane. We will be able to wear teams out by keeping our guys fresh all the time. Looking back at our past failures to advance in the postseason, sometimes the issue was lack of athleticism, sometimes lack of size, sometimes lack of depth, sometimes lack of NBA-level star power, but it seems like this roster addresses literally every one of those past flaws. I need to put down my Kool-aid now.
