It has already exceeded my expectations so much that if BYU ends the season 8-5 or so, I will still likely have very fond memories of this season. I think the team may have gotten extra lucky so far and has been playing above themselves a little bit, but maybe not. In hindsight, those games against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State at the end of last season do not appear as flukish that BYU was in them until time ran out. Maybe BYU does deserve a top 20 ranking. Maybe they do not. Maybe they beat Arizona this weekend, maybe they do not. Even if they lose, I will just enjoy watching the game and enjoy it. It feels like gambling with house money at this point, like BYU has already pocketed more than they were supposed to, so anything more is gravy.

Don't get me wrong, I really, REALLY hope BYU wins each game they play, especially towards the end of the season if they are still in a position to get into the Big 12 championship game. Those losses would really sting late in the season to prevent that, or a loss to the yewts as well. But for now, I am just enjoying the ride. I came into this season with the lowest expectations I have ever had in my lifetime for BYU FB. What a great gift they have provided. I choose to savor it. If they provide more this season, AWESOME! If not, hey, I am happy for the great times they did provide, and hope they can build on it going forward. Still, because this season as it sits now is set up for something special, it would be a shame if it did not happen. But I will not rend my clothes, so to speak, if it doesn't happen.
