I have a deposit down on a vehicle at a large dealership. It’s a trade in, priced well, and in great condition with good service records. When talking to the salesman, I mentioned I’m already approved for the loan through my credit union. He said they work with my credit union and I wont need to go get an outside check cut, that I could just do it through their financing department.
I’ve already got my credit pulled, loan approved while working with the gal at my CU though. She just says to get the sale order and then I’ll go to the local branch and they’ll cut the check. However, that means I’ll need to request the sale order in advance so they can get everything processed by the time I show up to pick up the check.
I’m sure the financing department probably gets a cut of the sale if they do the financing though their system and they probably want to try and sell me a warranty and a maintenance plan. I’m definitely denying those extras. I’m going to try and call today to see if I can get the sale order so I can get it over to my credit union. I’m not sure if I’ll get a bunch of pushback or what. Anyone else deal with this? I’m trying to be prepared in advance. Thanks
