I go to a million games per year, give or take a few. But have never bought season tickets because 1) my work schedule sucks. I value the flexibility in deciding day of whether to go to a game. 2) I like sitting in different spots and think I get overall good deals on the secondary market.
The place I get screwed is with playoff tickets. I’d save a bunch of money with getting playoff tickets at face value.
My problem with a 20-33 partial ticket package is who plans their life like that? I decide before the season a bunch of random games I want to go? And then have to do it? I value the spontaneity. Who knows when my wife or friends want to go. Certainly not more than a week in advance.
We will all die someday. Maybe the same question applies to a lesser extent to NBA and NHL season ticket holders as well.
