In doing my best to try to curate my media-watching feed with wholesome content,
I've come across a niche of videos that I love to watch, that are also fantastic business models. Uncertain how I feel about it from an intention standpoint, but its fun nonetheless.

Its the "videoing myself doing something selfless" shtick.

First example:
Lawncare business where a guy goes and finds horribly kept properties, records himself approaching the homeowner, and asking if he can clean up the property for no cost. Homeowners are usually skeptic about someone doing something for free, but end up allowing him to do it. Then does a sped-up video of his doing all off the mowing, trimming, weeding, etc, all the while narrating over it talking about the information regarding the homeowner or property (common is older resident who just cant get around to doing it anymore, etc).

Video is wholesome showing some service. Comments on the video are usually wholesome, commenting on the story or how they love seeing people serving, etc. While he does this for free, by posting the video, and it gets attention, the revenue gain from it likely gains more money than charging for the service.. Seen similar videos from pressure washing companies, exterior painting, etc.

Second example:
Guy sets up at a collector's convention. Has primarily card collection, majority Pokemon, some other TCGs as well. Videos are primarily of young children that are collecting, there with the parents, and the guy ends up giving substantial discounts (trades that heavily favor them, giving stuff away for free, etc) to the kids as a means of helping them with their collecting and getting them their dream cards.
Similar situation. Does something very generous to benefit the kids. Usually ends up getting a lot of views and/or donation that easily compensate for the lost revenue due to the generosity. Seen similar with other collecting hobbies, like sneakers and sports cards/memorabilia.

While the intention of these videos may not be 100% altruistic, its still fun seeing people do something knowing there isn't a guaranteed return on it. Its a very fresh take on content where its not doom and gloom, or showing the worst of society.
