Gustav Intervention Needed
Joker feels like a unique case
I've seen various comments about how the director seems to have meant to insult the fans of the original. Some are saying it was awesome/punk of him to take $200M from WB to give fans the bird with a project destined to fail, but I just find the whole thing depressing. I thought the first one was well-made in some ways but unlikable in its stupid nihilism. Nothing interesting or meaningful to say about anything real.

Anyway, I can't remember a movie that seems this destined to be unliked by everyone.

Fans hate it.

Critics hate it.

Director seems to hate the fans and probably the movie.

WB has to be upset about how much they sank into it.

Theaters are peeved because they need a hit and had high hopes for this after the first one.

Do Phoenix and Gaga even like it? They have to know it's bad are said to be a horrible mismatch, which had to be apparent during filming.

And it was made with such a huge budget and seemingly such a free hand that no one can complain of compromised budgets or artistic visions.

Seems to be just a total turd all around.

Can't say the material doesn't deserve it.
