it can no longer be compounded for a lower cost from a compounding pharmacy. If you have been taking compounded Tirzepatide, you will no longer be able to get it and will need to pay full price for the brand name drug (Mounjaro or Zepbound) - currently close to $2k per month. Tirzepatide had a little better weight loss response and fewer side effects than other GLP-1 Agonist drugs.
Semaglutide (Ozempic) is still on the shortage list, so you can still get it compounded for the time being. No idea when it's going to be removed, and Ozempic has had higher demand than Mounjaro, so it could be some time. But if you have been thinking of taking compounded Semaglutide for weight loss, you probably want to do it sooner than later before $1800/month is the only option rather than the $200-400/month compounded.
