EVEN IF WE DON'T GET HIM TO COMMIT, the way in which KY has turned Caleb Wilson from a LONG SHOT into a potential BYU Cougar is pretty insane.

The story of Caleb Wilson POTENTIALLY coming to BYU is perhaps best told by using the timeline from when we first offered him until today, when TWO different HS recruiting services are putting us in the TOP 5 for the #9 kid in the class of '25.

May 29th: Offered by BYU.

July 31st: Caleb cuts his list to 12 schools - BYU not on the list.

THEN THINGS GET INTERESTING!

August 5th: Caleb's dad says he has an amazing Zoom with KY - "they have put themselves in the conversation"

Sept 4th: KY + 3 members of the staff does a home visit with Caleb in Atlanta, GA

Sept 17th: On3's Jamie Shaw says that even though he predicts he's going to Arkansas (25% confidence level), the biggest threats are Kentucky, BYU and Georgia Tech

Sept 19th: Another mtg w/ Caleb Wilson and BYU coaching staff

Sept 28th: 247 reports that Caleb is trying to line up visits with BYU - "If that's not enough he's still looking to line up trips with Arkansas, Brigham Young, North Carolina (where he's already been officially), Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee and USC."

Oct 3rd: HS Recruiting on X says that BYU is in the top 5 for Caleb - Wilson- Kentucky/Arkansas/UNC/GTech/BYU

Oct 3rd: Caleb cancels his Alabama visit

Caleb has said the following about BYU:

"Coach (Kevin) Young is a former NBA coach and they also have a really good coaching staff and a great atmosphere around their sports. With the location in Utah they talk to me about NIL and the chance to make good relationships with people that could help me during basketball but more importantly after basketball. So I really like BYU."
