Right or wrong, BYU basketball fans in 2012 talked about walking into the WCC and owning that conference, feeling like it was beneath the stature of the program having just experienced Jimmermania and being so close to the highest height the program had ever seen.

Utah football fans now are acting the same way toward the Big 12.

We all know how BYU basketball performed in the WCC - no regular or postseason championships.

It took BYU fans years to come to grips with the fact that they weren't dominating the WCC. Those first loses to Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount stung, A LOT, because of those expectations.

I believe Utah fans will also take years to realize the same. Although the irony is that their first Big 12 loss came to fellow former Pac 12 school Arizona. 😄
