3 AQ's for SEC
3 AQ's for Big 10
2 AQ's for Big 12
2 AQ's for ACC
1 AQ for G5 champ
3 at large teams.
When I look at this playoff situation (I know it's only the first year of the 12 team playoff) it's hard to imagine the Big 12 in most years to get two teams in as the format is presently constituted. Having two automatics will go a long way of creating some stability. And honestly we know the SEC and Big 10 are at the very least getting three teams in anyways. Having three at large spots will be enticing enough that in a very good year for the Big 12 they might get three in, but it will be hard for Big 12 to get two teams in on how things are going. I would push back on 4 AQ's, but it sounds like Big 10 is open to this 3-3-2-2-1 format. If I'm the rest of the college football world I'd take this.
