This just occurred to me. There’s essentially no limit to how long someone can stay in college. How is the rule against letting players play after a certain number of years more legally defensible than the rules against players getting paid or making NIL deals? Maybe I’m just out in left field, but I wonder if this rule will be challenged eventually.
It would be a big change if we started to see players stick around for longer in college if they’re making money and don’t think they would make it in the pros.
