The party line last year was that they were so hard hit by injuries. So much so that they had to finish the season with their 4th string QB.

Can you count Cam Rising as your 1st string if EVERYONE knew he would not be starting the season and BEST CASE he’s joining the team after the season is 1/3 over? I digress.

Then it’s neck and neck between your next 2 QBs, Rose and Johnson, during fall camp. Rose has a freak injury and suddenly he was the obvious 2nd string and was really “coming on” and “starting to put it together”. Johnson, who he was neck and neck with, sucked it up bad enough that he only played a game or 2 and was never heard from again.

Despite having the “best QB room in the country”
for some reason you don’t start the season with #3. You start the season with your alleged 4th string QB, Barnes. The same QB that takes 90% of snaps all season and starts and finishes the season. The same QB that had been battling it out the whole offseason (and the season before) with the rest of your “best QB room in the country”. So you knew what you had and chose not to bring in a transfer QB to play at least your 1st 4 games and very likely more.

Then you go all season acting like it was a surprise that Rising wasn’t able to play in the same year he had ACL surgery. Pining for Rose because if not for that freak injury your offense wouldn’t have missed a beat. Then you start a walk on no one has heard of in your last regular season game…even though Rose has now been cleared to play. Then in your bowl game you play Barnes, who has already announced he’s transferring to USU and with Rose healthy on the sideline, having already used his redshirt.

Now this year your QB room is bad enough that your only hope at QB is a true freshman who plays like…a true freshman. Despite last year’s savior, Rose, inexplicably not transferring and sitting healthy on the bench.

Whit is kind of like the media who told us Joe Biden was competent to be President, until we actually saw he wasn’t. Then suddenly Harris, who was a laughingstock, is now going to make everything better, despite essentially being “the guy” the last 4 years.
